Investment Disclosures
Last updated: July 9, 2026
Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Investing through Doomo is optional — everything on this page applies only if you choose to connect a brokerage account, and a free unlock is always available.
1. Who does what
Doomo is an iOS application and is not a broker-dealer, exchange, investment adviser or bank. Doomo does not open brokerage accounts, does not perform identity verification, does not hold or move money or securities, and does not execute trades.
Your brokerage — the firm where you already hold your account — provides all brokerage services: account opening and KYC, custody of your cash and securities, order execution, confirmations, statements and tax forms. Your relationship with your brokerage is governed solely by its customer agreement; Doomo is not a party to it.
A third-party connection service provides account connectivity: a secure portal where you sign in to your own brokerage and authorise a connection. That service is not your broker. Doomo never sees or stores your brokerage username or password.
2. What Doomo does — and does not do
- When a blocked app tempts you and you choose the invest unlock, Doomo transmits the order you approved — typically a one-dollar market buy order in the stock you picked — to your own investing account through its connection service.
- Every order is initiated and approved by you. Doomo never trades on its own, never picks the stock for you, and never places an order you did not confirm.
- A free unlock alternative is always available. You never have to spend money to use Doomo.
- Doomo receives no compensation of any kind in connection with your investing: no commissions, no markups, no payment for order flow, no asset-based fees, and no revenue share from an account provider or connection service.
- Doomo cannot deposit to, withdraw from, or transfer anything out of your brokerage account. Funding, withdrawals, transfers and account closure all happen directly between you and your brokerage, outside Doomo.
3. Investment risk
Investments in securities are not bank deposits. They are:
- Not FDIC-insured.
- Not guaranteed by Doomo, your account provider, Apple, or any government agency.
- Subject to investment risks, including possible loss of principal.
Past performance is not a guarantee of future results. A one-dollar purchase is still a real securities purchase: the value of what you buy can go down as well as up.
4. SIPC and account protection
Any SIPC protection on your account is provided through your own brokerage's SIPC membership, not through Doomo. Most US brokerages are SIPC members, but you should confirm directly with your brokerage. SIPC protects custody of cash and securities if a member brokerage fails — SIPC does not protect against market losses. Details at sipc.org.
5. No investment advice
Nothing in the Doomo app or on this website is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Doomo does not assess suitability and does not manage portfolios. The stock bought at each unlock is the one you chose.
Figures shown in the app such as totals of what your past unlocks bought are arithmetic on your own history. They are not forecasts and do not predict future contributions, returns or account values.
6. Fees
Doomo charges nothing for investing. There is no Doomo commission, markup, advisory fee, or account fee, and Doomo receives no payment from your account provider or connection service for your orders.
Your own brokerage's standard pricing applies to your account, including any commissions, regulatory pass-through fees, or account fees it charges. Those are set by and paid to your brokerage — check its fee schedule.
7. Tax considerations
We do not provide tax advice. Buying and later selling securities may create taxable events. Your brokerage — not Doomo — issues year-end tax forms (e.g. 1099-B, 1099-DIV) for your account. Consult a tax professional about your situation.
8. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to connect a brokerage account to Doomo. Your brokerage applies its own eligibility and residency requirements to the account itself.
9. Disconnecting
You can disconnect your brokerage from Doomo at any time in the app's settings. Disconnecting removes Doomo's access; it does not close or change your brokerage account, which remains yours and fully under your control at your brokerage. Doomo retains records of the orders placed through the app as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Questions
Questions about your brokerage account, an execution, a transfer or a tax form go to your brokerage. Questions about the Doomo app — including the brokerage connection — come to us at vitaliy@fylyk.com.
